My husband and brother in law are staying here because they work in the area. Me and my sister in law are visiting for a couple of days with dogs. (We asked ahead of time if they were pet friendly because a lot of places aren't. They assured us they were very pet friendly.) anyways. We were walking our dogs. My Shepard, her bulldog, and a schnauzer. A lady (who we did not know what owner at the time) was with a friend and made friendly conversation about our cute pups. She then proceeded asking names while being down to pet the pit. (All these dogs are BIG BABIES never would they hurt a fly. Maybe the schnauzer. But for a fact not the "vicious" pit.) once informed of the pits breed, she jumped away in fear and stated she was deathly afraid of pits and we would have to leave due to their insurance not covering aggressive breeds. No where in the contract that we signed stated this. In fact, it said nothing of pets. Other than her giving us a refund, nothing about this eviction was professional of a owner. She demanded we leave at once even after telling her we had no place to go till morning at least. Finally she agreed but Duke would have to stay inside. Enabling him to potty. She was VERY rude, unprofessional, and will absolutely never have our service again. We understand "rules are rules". And we are rule followers. But after driving house to come see our significant others, we would at least like to have been able to stay the days we planned, and not bring him back the next time.
Cannot get a reservation. They only want to rent to monthly occupants or workers working out of town. Anyone wanting to come visit the lake and use the lake for what it was built for cannot. I cannot believe Arkansas Game and Fish are allowing this. I have tried personally a half dozen times to get my friends from out of town a room to stay in. Wether you are a small operation or a chain I have never heard of only taking reservations 2 weeks out. They really need to get in to modern times where people plan ahead.
Just want to let you know that you will be hearing from the Dept of Labor for all the overtime hours that I worked for you and your business and did not receive pay for. I have kept track of them since I started working there almost 2 years ago... Oh and I didnt need to tell anyone lies.. I actually didnt tell anyone anything.. Thanks
First and foremost this isn't a resort. The only thing living the resort lifestyle is all the snakes living under the dock that is is rotting into the water. The owner lives in a foreign country which obviously he's taking all the profits oversees with him. Such a beautiful slice of Arkansas to be leased to someone who refuses to help beautify this wonderful state. This was my second time back in two years. The staff he recently let go was everything you would expect from such a hospitable state. They used to have karaoke and a meal every Saturday night, but the owner came back to the states and let them go for reasons I don't know. (Definitely not because of there warm and hospitable attitudes.) Now from what the locals are telling it is being ran by a known thief and drug abuser. Which seems to be the norm being the maintenance man went to jail for beating his wife in the park. Man hunt insued...kid friendly.... I think not. So I hope this helps you find your next stay in Arkansas without having the horrible experience I indured.Makes you ask the question should the state lease to people who dont live in the great nation we call home. He will respond to this with "as an out of town owner" and definitely will not address any of the issues I've discussed.
It is clean, beautiful, and great fishing. For the 4th of July, it is known for it's FREE fire work show, which generally is done within a few or so days before the 4th. This place is family friendly and a nice place to watch beautiful fire works in the night sky over the beautiful lake.
